2012 Children’s Ministries
Thank you to our many volunteers for your service with our youngest Moravians and visitors each Sunday morning. We minister to almost 50 children during the year through our ministries of Nursery, Bible Time and Childrenʼs Worship. These ministries depend on adults willing to say yes to one of the most rewarding areas of service! In 2012 we will be revising our scheduling to accommodate leaders who prefer to signup a few weeks throughout the year in lieu of a month-at-a-time (AND those who still desire to volunteer for a full month still can!) We will also be scheduling leadership in teams of 2 so that there will be 2 adults in each area every week.
2011 Mission Blitz
A project by area churches working together to extend our hearts and our hands to people living in our community.
In the aftermath of Hurricanes Andrew and Katrina, the tsunamis in Indonesia and Japan, and the earthquakes in Haiti and Chile, people the world over have answered the calls of help. In the days of yesteryear, when a farmer’s barn burned to the ground, his neighbors, friends and relatives came forward to lend a hand and raise a barn, often in one day. They brought with them hammers and saws, baskets of food, a variety of skills, and a determination to share the burden with their neighbor. Mission Blitz is exactly that – churches working together to make life a little better for our neighbors in need.
Our Youth Want to Know You!!!
Several of our children and youth have expressed a desire over the years to have opportunities to get to know adults in our congregation. You could build that bridge by inviting a group over for lunch, to sit outside on your back porch and drink lemonade, camping, swimming, gardening, fishing, or watch a movie. Have a special interest or great stories to tell? Come share it with our young people. Go out on a limb and lead a Sunday School Rotation, rock a baby in the nursery or teach a Bible Time or Children’s Worship lesson. Lead a devotional at one of our Sunday Youth Fellowship gatherings or consider preparing a light lunch for a group of 12-15 kids. Drive our church bus on special trips or just sit on a different pew next Sunday next to one next to one of our many children or youth. We are called to be in relationship with one another and our young people would like an opportunity to share one with YOU!
